Instagram’s latest feature is ‘Recommended for You’, which shows the posts liked by your friends or the posts chosen by Instagram’s algorithm for your feed. This clearly means that Instagram will recommend posts based on those that were liked by other accounts you are following. Now if you are fed up with these unwanted posts on your Instagram feed, you can surely hide recommended Instagram posts in the feed on your iPhone and Android.
This isn’t the first attempt of Instagram to display recommended posts; earlier, users had to go to the Explore section to view recommended posts and videos. Unlike current feature, this was not pushed to your home feed on Instagram. Anyway, you can get rid of these recommended posts in your Instagram feed on your smart phones.
How to Hide Recommended Posts in Instagram Feed on iPhone, iPad and Android
Before you go ahead and remove recommended posts in Instagram, you need to download the latest version of this app on your iPhone or Android device.
Step #1: Open Instagram App on your device.
Step #2: Tap on home icon from the bottom left corner.
Step #3: Now choose the recommended post, which you want to hide or remove.
Step #4: Next, tap on three dots from the top right corner of the post.
Step #5. Tap on Hide from the menu.
That’s it! Now you won’t see this post in your Instagram feed as you have hidden it.
Note that you cannot completely disable this Recommended For You feature in your Instagram. However, this method will give some relief and you can see the recommended posts at the end after you have seen your feed.
