Instant Apps was first introduced during Google I/O 2016. The feature allows Android users to access a cloud-based Android app before they can actually download the app from Google Play Store. This way, they can check the features and facilities of any Android app. It is a sort of testing of app for both parties – users and app developers.
If you want to use Android Instant Apps feature, you must be an owner of a high end Nexus 6P smartphone running Android 7.1.1; you can also use Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones running Android 7.1.2.
Google is now making Instant Apps available to innumerable users; you need to check out whether you can access to Instant Apps or not.
First, you need to find out if your Android phone has access to Instant Apps or not. Before that, you have to enable Instant Apps on your device. You can follow the steps given below.
How to Enable Android Instant Apps
Step #1: Launch Settings app on your phone.
Step #2: Scroll down and tap on Google under the category of Personal.
Step #3: You need to choose Instant Apps from under Services category.
Step #4: Next, toggle the Instant Apps option ON from the upper right corner.
Step #5: You will find instructions on your mobile screen; go through the instructions and tap on ‘YES, I’M IN’ button.
After performing above steps, you are now prepared to find and use Instant Apps.
Currently, there is limited number of apps that support Instant Apps; you can check out apps like Wish, Viki, Buzzfeed and Periscope. From the four apps, only Wish is compatible with Instant Apps. However, you should not get disappointed because this is a server-side rollout and therefore, other three apps are likely to be made to work with Instant Apps in near future. How to Use Android Instant Apps
Step #1: Open Google app on your Android phone and search one of the supported apps mentioned above.
Step #2: Scroll down and choose the app listing that shows the word: Instant.
Step #3: Tap on OPEN APP button.
Once the Instant App is opened on your device, you can use the app in the same way as you did with other apps you have downloaded from Google Play Store. In Wish app, you can use your account, explore products, and order items without installing the app.
In case you wish to download Wish app, you can do it in a simple way. All you need to do is bring down notification shade on your Android phone and then tap App info. Next, you can install the app from there. Clear the app’s data and check which permission it has been sanctioned.
When you tap on Install button, you will be landed on a new screen and you will be able to install the app from there. If you like to check Google Play listing, you should tap on overflow menu button, i.e. three vertical dots on top right corner. From the drop-down menu, tap on View On Google Play.
