Samsung seems to have announced its ‘Next Element’ during Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017). After the debacle of Note 7 last year, Samsung wanted a big success to begin 2017, and Samsung Galaxy Book has all elements to prove to be a bankable star for the Korean electronic brand.
During the event, Samsung didn’t announce any smartphone but surprised everyone by three tablets. Viewers got to see three tablets, viz. Tab S3, Galaxy Book 10.6, and Galaxy Book 12. Of these three tabs, two are running Windows 10 and one, i.e. Tab S3 is powered by Android 7.0 Nougat.
Since Book 10.6 and Book 12 are powered by Windows 10, people began to take special interest. It is obvious that Samsung plans to capture business class by installing Windows operating system in its two tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Books
Design
An inspired mind would always appreciate error-free design of the product. Galaxy Books have won the hearts of viewers with their fault-free design, which impresses you with sleek body. The Tab S3 is solidly built and still can gel well into any work environment – business or personal. Book 10.6 (650 grams) and Book 12 (750 grams) are lightweight and therefore, you can carry the two devices anywhere with super comfort.
Keyboard and S Pen
You will surely give full marks to keyboard in the case of Books. Unlike Apple, Samsung is selling its S Pen in the package; so you don’t need to shell out extra bucks on the stylus. For iPad Pro owners, they had to spend extra $99 bucks to buy Apple Pencil. The keyboard that you can connect with Tab S3 gets the power from tablet; you can use that keyboard at night as it is backlit. Keyboards for 10.6-inch and 12-inch variants are comfortable as users can easily type contents. The keys are well rounded and possess good tactile feedback.
Hardware and Performance
Apart from screen size, Samsung has kept remarkable differences between Book 10.6 and Book 12. Galaxy Book 12 boasts sharper quality with resolution of 2,160×1,440 pixels. Moreover, Book 12 possesses Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology which gives superior contrast and color reproduction. Like Tab S3, the bigger book provides 10-bit HDR support. You can enjoy superb multimedia experience enhanced by greater color reproduction, shadows and highlights.
The Galaxy Book 10.6 has an LCD panel, which doesn’t have HDR support and gives lower resolution.
If you check the battery capacity of the two models, there is not much difference as the smaller has 30.4W battery and the bigger one has 39W. Once the devices are fully charged, they can work up to 10 hours and 10.5 hours respectively. You can charge both units in 2.15 hours.
On your Galaxy Book 12, you will get an extra USB 3.1 Type – C port.
If we consider all aspects and features of both devices, Samsung has left little space for critics to censure the products. Given the full specifications and features, Galaxy Book 10.6 and Book 12 are awesome deal. In view of prices of the two tablets, traditional laptop users would surely think of Galaxy Books.
