There are two ways you can claim refunds for paid apps from App Store: either you use iTunes on your Mac or PC, or you can use browser.

How to Get Refund Using iTunes on Mac or Computer

Step #1: Open iTunes on your Mac or personal computer.

Step #2: Click on Account option from the bar.

Step #3: From the drop-down menu, click on View My Account.

Step #4: Enter your Apple ID and password.

Step #5: You will be landed on Account Information page; scroll down and click on Purchase History or Purchases section.

Step #6: Next, click on ‘See All’.

Step #7: You are now on Purchase History page. Click on Report a Problem option, which is right below the purchases you have made on iTunes.

Step #8: Click on Report a Problem link given next to the item you want a refund for.

Step #9: Next, you will be landed on Apple website, where you can report your problem and apply for refund.

Step #10: Fill in necessary details and then hit ‘Submit’ button.

It is Apple’s discretion to consider your application eligible; if everything is good, Apple will start processing for your refund and you will get an email from the brand.

How to Get Refund Using Browser on iPhone or iPad

You can also use a web browser and log in to your Apple ID to register a claim for refund. Many users appreciate this method as it eliminates the need to use iTunes, which may take more time. Moreover, sometimes they have to update to the latest version of iTunes before they can raise a concern.

Step #1: Open reportaproblem.apple.com on your browser.

Step #2: Log in with your Apple ID and password; you will see all your purchases.

Step #3: Now find the purchase you want to get refund for, and then click on ‘Report a Problem’ button next to the item.

Step #4: You will see a drop-down menu ‘Choose Problem’; click on it.

Step #5: Five options will be seen: I didn’t authorize this purchase; Item didn’t download or can’t be found; Item won’t install or downloads too slowly; Item opens but doesn’t function as expected; and Problem is not listed here.

If you click on the last option, you will be able to describe your problem in detail.

Step #6: Finally, click on Submit button.

How to Get Refund for Paid Apps Using Email Receipt on iPhone/iPad

For every purchase, Apple sends a receipt via mail to the user. You can use this mail to get refund for paid apps by opening the mail in your iPhone or iPad.

Step #1: Open Mail app from the Home screen of your iOS device.

Step #2: Search ‘Your receipt from Apple’ if you have purchased an app a couple days earlier.

Step #3: Tap on the receipt you received for the purchase you want refunds for.

Step #4: Tap on the purchase you want to report.

From now onwards, you need to follow the same steps as you have done in your web browser.

Note that you can submit your problem for apps purchased for the last 90 days. Apple Support may contact you and ask you for the reason for refund.
