Creating smart home device group allows you to use a single command to turn on or turn off the devices. Normally, such groups are created when you have installed smart home devices in multiple rooms of your house. Once you make the group, you can use Alexa to control smart home devices. Note that you can add your Amazon Echo device to one smart group at a time. When the group is created, simply speak one Alexa command, like “Alexa, turn on lights”. Create Alexa Compatible Smart Home Device Group

Step #1: Open Alexa App on your Smartphone.

Step #2: Tap on three horizontal dots from the top left corner.

Step #3: Tap on Smart home from the menu.

Step #4: Tap on Groups tab from the top.

Step #5: Tap on Add Group and choose your Smart home group type instead of using multi-room music group.

Step #6: Now, enter a group name but make sure that your name is easily recognizable so that Alexa can identify it. Also, enter a name that has only a few syllables and avoid using same group name.

Step #7: Choose the smart home devices you want to add to Alexa group.

Step #8: Tap on Save.

How to Edit Alexa Group Name

Step #1: Launch Alexa App on your device.

Step #2: Tap on Menu.

Step #3: Tap on Smart home.

Step #4: Now, Tap on Groups tab.

Step #5: Next, tap on the group name you want to edit.

To Edit Alexa Group Name: Choose Edit Name and then enter any new name or you can also select from Common name suggested by Alexa.

To Add or Remove Devices from Alexa Group: Simply, Uncheck the box next to a device name.

How to Delete Alexa Group

Step #1: Take your smartphone in your hand and open Alexa App.

Step #2: Now, tap on Menu.

Step #3: Next, tap on Smart home.

Step #4: Then, Tap on Groups tab.

Step #5: Tap on the group name you want to remove.

Step #6: Finally, tap on the trash icon.
