How to Add Digital Touch in iMessage in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad

The deeper you dig iOS 10, the better features come out. The case in point here is Digital Touch in iMessage in iOS 10 on your iPhone and iPad. This feature of sending heartbeat and kisses was available in Apple Watch first generation. Since it received tremendous response from watch users, it was obvious that Apple would introduce this feature in iPhones also. And here is how to add and use Digital Touch feature in iOS 10 on iPhone and iPad.

With Digital touch you can send kisses, heartbeats, heartbreaks, taps, sketches, and fireballs in iMessage on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. You can add digital touch on your Photos and videos also. Let’s see how you can add Digital Touch on your video and iPhone in iMessage.

How to Add Digital Touch on Photo and Video in iMessage on iOS 10

Step #1: Open Messages app on your iPhone.

Step #2: Tap on any contact (it goes without saying that iMessage can be sent to another iPhone or iPad user only).

Now tap on any conversation thread

Step #3: At the bottom of your iPhone’s screen, you will find three icons of Camera, Digital Touch and iMessage App Store icon.

Step #4: You can either tap on the Digital Touch.

Step #5: If you tap on iMessage text field, you will see (>) icon to the left of iMessage text field. Tap on the icon and you will again see those three icons viz. Camera, Digital Touch and iMessage App Store.

Step #6: Now tap on Camera icon seen at bottom left of your phone screen.

If the screen looks smaller, you can tap on Expand button (^) to make it bigger.

Step #7: Tap on Camera icon.

Step #8: You can select selfie camera or rear camera by tapping on the Camera Switch button from the bottom right corner of iPhone.

Step #9: If you want to click a still photo, tap on the white Camera Shutter given at the bottom left; and if you want to shoot video, tap on red Video Shutter button located at the bottom center. You can record a 10-second video.

Step #10: To add some fun, you can now select your favorite color from the list above the camera space. Swipe your finger to Sketch or touch and hold two fingers to add a Heartbeat.

Step #11: Once you have done all the beautiful painting, tap on the Send button.

This is how you can explore other features of Messages app in iOS 10 on iPhone and iPad. Note that selfies & photos taken in this app will not be saved in Camera Roll and Selfies folders in Photos app. Moreover, the visual contents created with Digital Touch feature will disappear from the chat thread you have started with your contacts.
