Setup Apple TV with Remote app
Before proceeding, make sure that the Apple TV and Apple Watch are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Step 1: Open the “Remote” app on your Apple Watch.
Step 2: Tap on “Add Device”.
Step 3: You will be shown a four digit code.
Step 4: Then select Apple Watch on your Apple TV:
– For 4th Generation Apple TV, navigate to Settings → Remotes and Devices → Remote app, then select your Apple Watch.
– For 2nd or 3rd Generation Apple TV, navigate to Settings→ General→ Remotes, then select your Apple Watch.
Step 5: Enter the 4 digit code on your Apple TV to pair it with the Apple Watch. Once the pairing icon is shown, your TV is ready to be controlled from your smartwatch.
How to Use Apple Watch Remote App to Control Apple TV
Your Apple Watch is now synced with your Apple TV. Now it’s time to know how to control it from the smartwatch.
Step #1: Swipe in any of the four directions to navigate through the menu of your Apple TV.
Step #2: Next tap on the screen of the Watch to select a highlighted item.
Step #3: Now, tap on the play/pause symbol to resume a playback.
Step #4: To return to any previous page, tap “Menu”. Touch and hold it to return to the Home Screen.
You have to set up the device only once for each app. It will be saved after the pairing is done. From the next time onwards, select the device you want to connect and it will readily available for remote interface from your Apple Watch.
