How to Share WiFi Password in iOS 11 on iPhone or iPad
Both devices should be running on the same Wi-Fi network and both should be unlocked; moreover, turn on Bluetooth on both the devices.
Step #1: Launch Settings app on your iPhone/iPad.
Step #2: Tap on Wi-Fi and then turn on Wi-Fi switch.
Step #3: You will see a list of Wi-Fi networks on your phone screen; tap on the network you want to join.
Step #4: Now keep the device near the unlocked device, wherein password is already entered.
Step #5: On the device where password is entered, an alert will appear.
This alert reads: “X would like to join your Wi-Fi network. Do you want to send the Wi-Fi password for ‘name of the network’?”
To this, you need to tap on Send Password button that appears under the alert. And the password will be populated automatically on the unconnected device after a short while.
How to Share WiFi Password from Mac in macOS High Sierra to iOS 11 Devices
Follow the first three steps as mentioned above.
Step #4: Now keep your iOS device in the close proximity of your unlocked Mac.
Step #5: On your Mac, an alert will flash: Share password for your ‘Wi-Fi network name’ with ‘iOS device name’.
You can either choose to Decline or Share.
