Step #1: Download and install the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or computer.

Step #2: Now connect your iPhone or iPad with computer via Charging Cable and launch iTunes (Check this guide if iTunes doesn’t show your iPhone).

Step #3: Once your device is connected with the computer, force restart or hard reset your iPhone 8 or 8 Plus.

Step #4: Next, you need to press and release Volume Up button; then press and release Volume Down button. Note that you should perform these actions quickly. You are not required to press and hold the two buttons.

Step #5: Then, press and hold the side button (earlier, it was called Power button or sleep/wake button) until your iPhone screen shows Recovery Mode with iTunes logo.

Step #6: A dialog box flashes on your computer; this box allows you to Restore or Update your iPhone. iTunes makes attempts to reinstall iOS on your iPhone without deleting your data. Your iPhone will exit recovery mode if download takes more than 15 minutes. You should not be worried and wait till the download finishes; next, repeat the steps.
