Notes app is one of my favourite productivity apps in iPhone, iPad, and Mac. All my important tasks, things, shopping items and more are stored in Notes app on my iPhone. With a long list, I find it difficult to prioritize my Notes. Thankfully, Apple listened to my silent prayer and in iOS 11, I can put important note on the top of the list in Notes app. So here is how you can pin notes in iOS 11 Notes app on iPhone and iPad.
Notes, Reminders, and Clock apps are frequently edited by iPhone and iPad users. Notes, being a productivity app, gets your attention every day. Once you pin a note, you may want to unpin the same after a day or two, hence, this information also deals with that portion: you can easily unpin notes on your device.
How to Use Pinning Notes in iOS 11 on iPhone and iPad
How to Pin a Document in Notes App on iPhone or iPad in iOS 11
Step #1: Open the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step #2: If your Notes are divided into different folders like All iCloud, Notes, Scanned Documents and others (you can see my Notes in the screenshots), you need to select one folder.
Step #3: I would select my iCloud Notes here.
Step #4: Next, you are not supposed to tap on any app to open it; just swipe from left to right on the Note you want to pin.
Step #5: Upon swiping a note, you can see a Pin on the left side of the Note.
Step #6: Here, simply tap on that Pin and your Note will be pinned (you can also use long swipe to pin notes in iOS 11). This means, the pinned note will be shown on the top of all Notes you have created in a particular folder.
You can see your pinned notes under a section called Pinned. You can pin more than one note, but remember the note that is pinned first will be displayed on the top, and other notes will be shown in that sequence.
How to Unpin Notes in iOS 11 Notes app on iPhone and iPad
Step #1: Go to Notes app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
Step #2: Tap on a folder in which you want to unpin notes.
Step #3: Next, swipe on a note you want to unpin (as done earlier, you need to swipe from left to right).
Step #4: A pin tool will appear; simply tap to Unpin. Like pinning a note, you can long swipe on the pinned note to unpin it.
This action will send the pinned note to its original position, where it was before you have pinned it. This change will be reflected in all devices you have connected with an iCloud account.
Many users use Notes app in their Mac also; they can pin and unpin notes in macOS High Sierra.
