Every smartphone user wants to experience virtual reality and augmented reality on their devices. While virtual reality has gained popularity by its omnipresence, augmented reality still has to find its foothold in the Android world. Google has launched ARCore platform to compete with Apple’s ARKit, and obviously, this platform needs presence in all Android devices. So check this tutorial on how to download and install Google ARCore APK on any Android device.

How to Get Google ARCore on any Android Phone

Before you try to install Google’s ARCore on your device, you need to download an APK, which is ARCore Service APK.

Step #1: First off, you need to download ARCore Service APK on your Android device.

Step #2: Then, you need to download another APK of Hello AR on the same device; this Hello AR is based on ARCore.

How to Use ARCore on Android Device

You may have downloaded ARCore Service APK first on your device, but you need to open the second one, i.e. Hello AR on your Android phone or tablet. Hello AR is extremely simple; it is so simple that you may find it uninteresting as you can see only a camera interface. Point the camera to a plain surface and the app will identify it. Here, you can tap on the screen to add AR props. You will see that after adding a prop, it appears on the same location always. These props stick to their locations until you re-launch the app – whether you move camera or not.

Note that ARCore is the preview version and therefore, it may not work on some smartphones like Nexus 5X.
