Peeking or heads-up Notifications was first introduced in Android Lollipop and smart phone users got an opportunity to see the notification preview. The feature then continues and it is available in Android Oreo as well. If you find this notifications showing up on your Android devices disturbing or encroaching upon your privacy, you can stop or disable notifications peeking in your Android Oreo phone.
Earlier, there was no facility on Android to turn off or disable heads-up notifications, and therefore, users had to rely on a third-party app developed by Jawomo’s Headsoff. But Android has rolled out a built-in feature in its Oreo and this will enable users to turn off notification peeking in Oreo running devices.
How to Disable Heads Up Notifications in Android Oreo
Android users normally get notifications on a few select apps, and therefore, they would like to stop notification preview on apps like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Youtube and others. These are third-party apps; users can also hide notification shade on pre-installed apps on their Oreo devices.
