In iOS 12, Apple introduces one of the most exciting features of Automatic Updates. The feature allows you to turn ON or OFF Auto firmware updates. So here I am going to explain to you how you can stop iPhone from automatically downloading iOS updates in iOS 12.
Once you disable Automatic updates option it will not update iOS version even if your device is connected to WiFi. Before now, we don’t have this option but now the company released this option with iOS 12. So without any further discussion let’s check out the steps to deactivate iOS version auto upgrading.
How to Disable Automatic Software Updates in iOS 12 on iPhone and iPad
Note: As of now, iOS 12 is in beta version so make sure you have downloaded and installed it on your iPhone or iPad to enjoy using this feature.
Step #1: Launch Settings App on your iOS device.
Step #2: Tap on General.
Step #3: Now, tap on Software Update.
Step #4: Next, tap on Automatic Updates.
Step #5: Finally, toggle off Automatic Update option.
That’s it.
At any time if you want to turn it ON again the follow the same steps and enable Automatic Update option.
How to Enable Automatic Updates on iPhone and iPad in iOS 12
Step #1: Open Settings App → tap on General.
Step #2: Now, tap on Software Update.

Step #4: At last, toggle ON Automatic Update option.
