To block websites in Safari on iPhone and iPad in iOS 11 using parental control, you need to perform a few easy tasks on your iOS devices running on iOS 11. But why should you block websites on Safari? This question arises from the fact that kids are using iPads and iPhones, which actually belong to their parents. A single unintentional tap can open a website, which has objectionable content a kid is not supposed to consume.
In this situation, users have to block specific websites in Safari on iPhone and iPad. Moreover, there are many websites that carry the virus, and hence, you need to block such pages on your device. Apple rolled out a feature in iOS 7 to block certain websites in safari browser. With the passage of time, this feature has become smarter. And now in iOS 11, blocking websites is easy and simple.
For once, you might think that you should turn off Wi-Fi connection and mobile data on your iOS device before giving it to kids. But they are smart enough to open internet connection on your iPhone/iPad. Hence, restrict them from accessing any bad content on Safari.
How to Block Websites in Safari on iPhone/iPad in iOS 11
Step #1: Open Settings on your iOS device.
Step #2: Tap on General.
Step #3: Next, tap on Restrictions.
Step #4: Type in your passcode.
Step #5: Scroll down and tap on Websites (you will find this option under ALLOWED CONTENT section on Restrictions screen).
Step #6: On Websites screen, tap on Limit Adult Content option, which is under ALLOWED WEBSITES section.
This will open two more sections: ALWAYS ALLOW and NEVER ALLOW on your iOS device’s screen.
Step #7: Since you want to block websites on Safari, you should tap on Add a Website under NEVER ALLOW section.
Step #8: Type in a website name and tap on Done from the keyboard.
If you want to block more than one website, go back to Websites screen and tap on Add a Website under NEVER ALLOW section and add more websites.
Next, launch Safari browser from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad. In the browser field, enter the website you have blocked just now. Your Safari browser will flash a message: “You cannot browse this page at “name of website” because it is restricted”.
Below this message, you will find a link to Allow Website.
Tap on the link and enter Restrictions Passcode to open the blocked website on Safari for iPhone and iPad in iOS 11.
Later on, if you want to unblock the blocked websites, just follow the same procedure as you have done to block websites. Under the NEVER ALLOW section, tap on the website name and delete the URL. Tap on Done from the keyboard and you will be able to access the website forever.
