With the release of iOS 10, iPhone and iPad users have started exploring several features of iOS 10 and apps. Among these, the Home app has garnered a lot of attention as it has been newly launched during WWDC 2016.

There are so many cool features of Home app; I particularly like its ability to divide a house into two rooms. Apart from this, users can add smart gadgets to the rooms to control them from the ease of their rocking chair. First off, you need to add rooms to your Home app in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad.

How to Add Room to Home App in iOS 10 on iPhone or iPad

Step #1: Open Home app on your iOS device.

Step #2: Tap on Rooms tab from the bottom of the phone screen.

Step #3: Tap on Hamburger icon, i.e. three horizontal lines with dots at front; this icon is seated at top left corner of phone screen.

Step #4: A menu will swipe up with two options: Default Room and Room Settings…

Step #5: Tap on Room Settings.

Step #6: Tap Add Room.

Step #7: Give a name to the room under ROOM NAME option.

Step #8: You can decorate the room with wallpaper; under ROOM WALLPAPER section, you can select wallpaper or take a photo. If you want to set a photo as wallpaper, tap on ‘Choose from Existing’.

Step #9: Tap on any photo from the Camera Roll to set the photo as room wallpaper.

Step #10: Now tap on Set from the bottom right corner of phone screen.

Step #: 11: Tap Done from the upper right corner.

And your room is created with beautiful wallpaper. In future, if you want to delete that room, follow the steps mentioned below.

How to Remove Room from Home App in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad

Step #1: Launch Hope app.

Step #2: Tap on Rooms tab.

Step #3: Tap on Hamburger icon.

Step #4: A menu will swipe up from the bottom of your phone’s screen. Two options are seen: Mr X’ Room and Room Settings.

Step #5: Now tap on Room Settings.

Step #6: Tap on room you want to remove.

Step #7: Tap on Remove Room from the bottom.

Step #8: You will be asked to confirm your action; tap on Remove to confirm.

Your room will be removed from the Home app. Note that HomeKit products were earlier controlled by third-party apps; now Apple has launched its own stock app Home. Hence, controlling HomeKit products would become easier than earlier.
