On your Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), you need to look for IMEI. There are two ways to check series number or IMEI for your watch: you can either use your Apple Watch or use your paired iPhone.
Important: After the launch of glass back on iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus, Apple has introduced a change in method to find model numbers on these phones.
How to Check Serial Number or IMEI of Apple Watch 1, Series 2 and Series 3
On your Apple Watch:
Step #1: Press the Digital Crown on your watch to bring the list view on watch face (in case you are on any other app).
Step #2: Now tap on Settings app.
Step #3: Next, tap on General.
Step #4: Then tap on About and scroll down.
Step #5: Here, you can check Serial Number or IMEI.
How to Find Apple Watch Serial Number or IMEI from iPhone
If your Apple Watch is not around, you can find the serial number or IMEI on your iPhone also.
Step #1: Launch Apple Watch app on the paired iPhone.
Step #2: Now, tap on My Watch tab from the bottom menu.
Step #3: Next, tap on General.
Step #4: Tap on About.
Step #5: Here, you will find the Serial Number or IMEI.
Note again that IMEI is available on Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) only.
You can find the serial number on Apple Watch (first generation), Apple Watch Series 1 and later.
If you are using Apple Watch (1st Generation), you can see the engraved serial number on the back of your watch.
On your Apple Watch Series 1 or later (including Apple Watch Hermès and Apple Watch Nike+):
Simply remove the watch band from your Apple Watch and then check the band slot.
