How to Fix Bluetooth Not Working in iOS 12 on iPhone and iPad
I have found many of my friends facing this same issue and they were asking me that “ why my Bluetooth is not connecting”.
- Turn Off/ON Bluetooth
- Reset Bluetooth Accessory
- Reset Network Setting
- Reset All Settings
- Update Bluetooth Accessory Firmware
- Update your iOS Device
In most of the cases, getting a new Bluetooth start trick worked.
Turn Off/ON Bluetooth.
Step #1: Launch Settings App on your iOS device running iOS 12.
Step #2: Tap on Bluetooth option.
Step #3: Now, tap on “i” button next to the device connected. Then tap on forgot this device and confirm your action by hitting it once again.
Now, simply reboot your iOS device.
To do so, iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus users can follow the below steps :
- Press and release Volume up button, press and release Volume Done button. Then you need to press and hold side button until Apple logo appears on the screen.
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users can need to Press and hold side and Volume down button at once
- Other users can press and hold the home button and ON/Off at once.
Step #4: Now, go to setting → tap on Bluetooth and then turn it ON.
Reset Bluetooth Accessory
Unpair the Bluetooth accessory by tapping on the pair out button till 30 seconds. Once the accessory is paired out then reset the accessory you are trying to connect. For resetting the accessory you can take help of user manual as the process varies for every device. Then, pair it again with your iPhone or iPad.
Reset Network Setting
Now, this is the most reliable trick, and it works for almost all the solutions. But before moving ahead let me tell you that this trick will wipe out the WiFi Passwords and login information of the websites you have saved.
Step #1: Open Settings App on your iOS device.
Step #2: Tap on General.
Step #3: Now, tap on Reset.
Step #4: Next, tap on Reset network settings and confirm your action.
Reset All Settings
If still, you are unable to fix it then reset all the setting to factory default settings. Don’t worry your photos and videos won’t be deleted.
Step #1: Go to settings → General → Reset → Reset all settings.
Update Bluetooth Accessory Firmware.
Many times just by updating Bluetooth Accessory firmware the problem will get resolved. To know more about software update check the manual and check the website of the accessory. Download and install the firmware and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer
Update your iOS Device
If nothing works, then try updating your iPhone to latest iOS version. To do so, make sure your iPhone or iPad is charged at least 50% battery, and it is connected to WiFi.
Step #1: Go to setting → tap on Software update.
Step #2: Now, download and install the newer version of an iOS device.
What if nothing works,
If nothing works, then downgrade to later iOS 12 or iOS 11 version, or you can also contact Apple Support.
